Hello guys,,this is my fifth post.
I hope you interest to read itšToday my post is about The history of Cakwe cake.Lets read...
Cakwe is a fried cake and its shape is long. Usually this food is used as breakfast. Cahkwe comes from the word hokkianyang dialect which means dogoreng ghost. This food was famous during the Dynasty Song, starting with the death of General Yue Fei who was famous for his nationalism due to being slandered by the Minister Qin Yui. Yue Fei's death sparked people's anger.
In the capital city, there was a small confectionary trader named Wang Xiaoer and Li Si who were looking for ideas to sell food. Wang Xiaoer saw people's anger at Qin Hui and finally got the idea.
He then fried two flour dough which he shaped like a human back to each other. If fried, the mixture must stick to the surface. He loudly shouted "For sale Hui Goreng!" (Hanzi: ę²¹ēø ꔧ, Pinyin: Yóu zhĆ” guĒ). The word "Hui" refers to Minister Qin Hui. This attracts many people who then come to see what the "Hui Goreng" looks like. That way, this food spread quickly from Lin'an, the capital of the South Song at that time.
General Yue Fei was one of the main generals of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 AD) who was famous for its success in suppressing the Jurchen / Jin State from the north. In the 12th century, with Emperor Gaozong's orders from Song, he held a war campaign to restore the area captured by the Jin Dynasty.
General Yue Fei successfully defeated the enemy and returned Song's cities. It is said that there are legends which mention before entering the military, his mother once gave him a sermon and inscribed a tattoo: (JÄ«ngzhÅng bĆ oguó) which means to read "Faithful and sincere in defending the State". This tattoo is what Yue Fei always remembered and became his life guide.
In 1163, 21 years after his death, Emperor Xiaozong built a temple to remember Yue Fei's merit. Four statues were placed there, each of which was the statue of Qin Hui, Wang Shi (Qin Hui's wife), Mo Qixie and Zhangjun (2 subordinates of Qin Hui). The four are on their knees as a symbol of their redemption. On his side were six statues, two horses, two tigers and two goats symbolizing Yue Fei's guards.
